Overview
Shibui Finance operates the MCP server at mcp.shibui.finance and the landing page at shibui.finance. This policy explains what data we collect (very little), how we use it, and your rights.
Data we collect
When you use the Shibui Finance MCP server, your MCP client (e.g. Claude Desktop or Claude Code) sends SQL queries to our server. We process these queries to return financial data results. We may log the following:
- The SQL query text (for debugging and performance analysis)
- Query execution time and row count
- Standard HTTP request metadata: IP address, timestamp, user-agent string
We do not collect any personally identifiable information beyond what is inherent in standard HTTP server logs (IP address). We do not create user accounts, set cookies, or use tracking pixels.
This website (shibui.finance)
The landing page at shibui.finance is a static HTML site. It does not use cookies, does not run JavaScript analytics, and does not collect any personal data. Standard web server access logs (IP, timestamp, requested path) may be retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention purposes.
How we use data
Query logs and server logs are used exclusively for:
- Debugging server errors and query failures
- Performance monitoring and query optimization
- Security monitoring and abuse prevention
We do not sell, share, or disclose query data to any third parties.
Data retention
Query logs are retained for up to 90 days, after which they are automatically deleted. Server access logs are retained for up to 30 days.
Third-party services
The MCP server is hosted on infrastructure in the European Union. Static files may be served via AWS CloudFront (Amazon Web Services). AWS may collect standard CDN access logs per their own privacy policy.
We do not use Google Analytics, social media tracking pixels, advertising networks, or any third-party analytics services.
Your rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including:
- The right to access data we hold about you
- The right to request deletion of your data
- The right to object to processing
Since we do not create accounts and only log IP addresses and query text, the practical scope of retained personal data is minimal. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at chris@shibui.finance.
Security
All connections to mcp.shibui.finance are encrypted via TLS (HTTPS). All database queries are executed as read-only transactions — it is not possible to modify any data through the MCP server. The underlying database contains only publicly available historical market data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
